Some of the best projects are born from restriction, this I learnt through being commissioned.
For this one, I had the chance to work with my favorite medium of all time animation. It’s always been my dream job, a way to bring imagination to life through art.
But this project wasn’t without its limits. We were confined not only by what we could create but also by the materials we used, just paper. And yet, those boundaries made the process even more rewarding. Working within such constraints pushed me to think more creatively and to focus on the fundamentals of motion, expression, and humor. Without the luxury of digital tools, I was able to fully explore what I could achieve with the simplest materials in a way that brought me to the root of the art form.
In a way, it reminded me why I fell in love with animation in the first place; the magic of turning still images into something alive.
