This was genuinely one of my favorite projects to work on throughout my time studying media.
It was rather simple and offered a lot of freedom, yet I immediately knew what I was going to do. I decided to animate a piece of text taken from the infamous “hate” monologue in I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream a passage that has always fascinated me for its raw emotion and unsettling power.
I’ve always been passionate about the original story and the way it conveys emotion through language alone. The words themselves feel almost alive, filled with bitterness, pain, and despair. Translating that intensity into motion felt like a natural next step a way to make the text itself “speak” visually.
The process reminded me a lot of making a music edit for platforms like TikTok the rhythm, timing, and emotional flow all needed to match perfectly. It was really fun to produce a piece of content I myself would watch.
What I enjoyed most was how personal the project became. It wasn’t just about animating words; it was about exploring how motion, pacing, and visual rhythm can amplify emotion. In the end, I was proud of how it turned out both as an homage to something I love, and as a piece that reflects the kind of media I’m most drawn to creating.
